Pacify is a great spell. I thought I would play a master thief Dovahkiin this life, but had a great deal of trouble making coin since most of Skyrim's inhabitants default to extremely unreasonable violence if you attempt to take the wad of napkins and a worthless ring from their pockets and get caught.

With pacify everyone simply forgets what they were stirred into a rage for a moment ago, and treat you like a doting parent to be ignored.

I don't mind the cops hanging around and nabbing fools who are breaking the Jarl's law, but really, do I need a four person escort because you caught me picking an apple out of someone's pocket a month ago?

To study magic better, an adept Dovahkiin should be in the habit of actually sleeping during the night cycles of Skyrim. Unfortunately, this will make you A.) a terrible cat burglar, and B.) better rested than you have ever been IRL.
